# What to use instead of Koyfin

Koyfin is a browser research terminal on Capital IQ data, free in a fence and from 39 dollars a month. What goes deeper, exports, costs less or charts better.

## Replacements

*Ordered by how much of the original’s job each one covers, closest first. Paid placement does not affect this order.*

1. [TIKR](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tikr.md) — The same Capital IQ statements and consensus, with 20 to 30 years of history and Excel export on Pro, from 24.95 a month; no macro, bonds or ETF flows.
2. [Fiscal.ai](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fiscal-ai.md) — Ten years of financials on the free plan, segment and KPI data, transcripts and filings, with an AI copilot that cites the filing page each number came from.
3. [Stock Rover](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stock-rover.md) — If the job was screening and portfolio analytics, not reading — 10 years of fundamentals in the screen from 49 a month billed annually, US and Canada only.
4. [YCharts](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/ycharts.md) — The advisor half of Koyfin — research plus branded client reports and proposals — on North American listings, at a price you get only from sales.
5. [GuruFocus](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/gurufocus.md) — Thirty years of financials and a deep screener for value investors, sold by region from 549 dollars a year for the US, with the vendor's own valuations on top.
6. [Stock Analysis](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stockanalysis.md) — Five years of statements, a screener and real-time NASDAQ and NYSE prices for free with no account — the depth Koyfin's free plan fences off.
7. [Finbox](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finbox.md) — If the work ends in a valuation model — pre-filled DCF, comparables and DDM templates that export with their formulas, from 19 dollars a month.
8. [TradingView](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradingview.md) — If what you used Koyfin for was the chart — 50-plus markets, real-time US stocks, alerts that run with the tab closed — from 12.95 a month.

## The product

[Koyfin](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/koyfin) is a card in this catalogue, and the card is the canonical page for it:
pricing, coverage, the export rules and the limitations, verified against koyfin.com on 14
September 2026. The pricing page read the same on 9 October 2026: Free, then Plus at $39 a month,
Premium at $79, Advisor Core at $209 and Advisor Pro at $299, all billed annually. The monthly
prices the card records behind the toggle are $49, $110, $239 and $349, and Koyfin's own FAQ
says the monthly plan is not discounted. Every figure about Koyfin below comes from the card.

Koyfin is a research terminal in a browser tab. What you pay for is the breadth of reference
data: Capital IQ financials and consensus estimates across global equities, bond yields for 45
countries, FRED series by ticker, ETF holdings and flows, and fund data, arranged into dashboards
and watchlists you lay out yourself. A screener runs over the same universe, which the vendor puts
at 100,000-plus securities.

People look for an alternative for reasons the card documents:

- **The free plan is fenced by index, not by feature.** Two years of financials, one year of
estimates, two watchlists, two screens, two dashboards, and analyst targets, consensus and
earnings history for the S&P 500 only.
- **The numbers mostly stay in the browser.** The free plan downloads nothing. On the paid plans
Koyfin's data vendor blocks the download of financials, estimates and valuation for global
equities, and there is no API and no spreadsheet add-in at any price.
- **History stops at ten years** on every plan.
- **The Pro plan is gone.** After 30 April 2026, Pro subscribers moved to Premium at the same
price and lost model portfolios and mutual fund data, which now sit on the Advisor tiers only.
- **Alerts on your own watchlists and portfolio start at Premium**, $79 a month billed annually,
which is easy to miss when Plus advertises alerts.

If you use Koyfin for the context around a company, with the ETF, the yield curve and a FRED
series on one screen, nothing below does the whole of that. The
[Koyfin vs TIKR](https://stockmarketstack.com/compare/koyfin-vs-tikr) page is the place to start if fundamentals are what you
actually read.

## What to use instead

**The same statements, further back and out to Excel.** [TIKR](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tikr) resells the same S&P
Capital IQ fundamentals and consensus, so on the default dataset the numbers match. It runs ten
years and 20 quarters on Plus at $24.95 a month, 20 years and Excel export on Pro at $54.95, and 30
years on Ultimate. The export comes from its Morningstar dataset, so check a few lines against the
default before building on it. TIKR's free plan is fenced by geography instead: US stocks only,
five years of financials.

**More on the free plan, and transcripts.** [Fiscal.ai](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fiscal-ai) shows ten years and six
quarters of financials and two years of KPI data on its free plan, against Koyfin's two years. Pro
at $49 a month adds KPI history, and Max at $99 adds full history and financial-data export for
the US, Canada, ADRs, the UK and the EU. Its copilot answers questions against the data and links
each number to the filing page it came from. Its API and MCP server are sold separately.
[Stock Analysis](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stockanalysis) is free with no account at all: five years of statements,
a screener and real-time NASDAQ and NYSE prices, with Pro at $9.99 a month for longer history and
one download a day.

**Screening and portfolio analytics.** [Stock Rover](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stock-rover) is where a Koyfin user
goes when the screen and the portfolio matter more than the dashboards. Premium Plus at $49 a
month billed annually gives 10 years of fundamentals inside the screen, historical and equation
screening, and portfolio analytics linked to brokerage accounts. It covers US and Canada only.
[GuruFocus](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/gurufocus) goes to 30 years of financials, with a full screener, screen
backtests and 13F investor portfolios, from $549 a year for the US region. A global screen means
buying most of its nine regions.

**Valuation models.** [Finbox](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finbox) builds the model for you: DCF, comparables, dividend
discount and earnings-power templates pre-filled per stock, editable in the browser and exportable
with formulas. Starter is $19 a month for US exchanges, and exporting needs a $20-a-month Data
Boost per region below Executive.

**The chart.** If Koyfin was your chart, [TradingView](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradingview) is the better chart: 50-plus
markets, real-time US stocks from Cboe One on every plan, and server-side alerts, from $12.95 a
month billed annually. It is a trading tool and not a research terminal, and its card does not
say how far back its fundamentals go.

**Advisors.** [YCharts](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/ycharts) is the product Koyfin's Advisor tiers compete with:
research plus proposals, a report builder and branded client documents. It covers North American
listings only and sells only by quote.

For macro series on their own, [FRED](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fred) is free and is one of the sources Koyfin itself
licenses.

## What you give up

**Breadth on one screen.** Koyfin puts equities, ETFs, funds, bond yields, FX and macro series in
one dashboard. TIKR carries no bonds and no preferred shares, Fiscal.ai and Finbox are built
around the single company, Stock Rover and YCharts stop at North America, and TradingView is a chart. Leaving
usually means two products where there was one.

**Global estimates at this price.** Capital IQ consensus for the global universe, with ten years
of financials, costs $39 a month on Koyfin Plus billed annually. TIKR Plus matches it at $17.95
billed annually but carries no macro, and GuruFocus prices every region separately.

**The layout.** Koyfin's dashboards and watchlists are your own arrangement, built up over
months. None of it exports in a form another product reads, and rebuilding it is work nobody
budgets for.

## Migration notes

**Download what the licence lets you before you leave.** Price, performance, technicals, economic
and fund data can be exported on a paid plan. Global financials, estimates and valuation cannot.
Expect to rebuild those from the new product, not carry them over.

**The same company can show different numbers.** TIKR's default dataset is the same Capital IQ
standardisation. Its exportable dataset, Fiscal.ai, Finbox and GuruFocus each standardise
statements their own way, so an operating margin can move by a point when nothing has happened to
the company. The [guide to where research terminals get their data](https://stockmarketstack.com/guides/where-research-terminals-get-their-data)
traces who supplies whom.

**Portfolios come out as a CSV and go in as one.** Koyfin's own portfolio loads from a CSV of
ticker or ISIN, quantity, cost and purchase date. Keep that file: it is the one piece of a Koyfin
setup that travels, and most trackers take a CSV in. Advisor client portfolios fed by a custodian link have to be connected
again on the new product.

## FAQ

### Is there a free alternative to Koyfin?

For company fundamentals, yes. Stock Analysis gives five years of statements and a working screener with no account, and Fiscal.ai's free plan shows ten years of financials. Koyfin's own free plan stops at two years of financials and one of estimates, with targets and consensus for the S&P 500 only. What nothing free in this catalogue replaces is Koyfin's breadth — macro series, bond yields and ETF flows on the same dashboard as the company.

### Is TIKR or Koyfin better for fundamentals?

They draw on the same supplier, S&P Capital IQ, so the default numbers match. TIKR goes further back — 20 years on Pro and 30 on Ultimate against Koyfin's ten — and lets a Pro subscriber export financial statements to Excel from its Morningstar dataset, which Koyfin's data licence does not allow for global equities. Koyfin carries the macro, fixed income and fund data TIKR does not.

### Can I get Koyfin's data into Excel?

Only partly. Koyfin's free plan downloads nothing, and on the paid plans its data vendor blocks financials, estimates and valuation for global equities, while price, performance, technicals, economic and fund data can leave. There is no API or add-in at any price. TIKR Pro exports statements from its Morningstar dataset, Fiscal.ai exports financial data on its 99-dollar Max plan, and Finbox exports models with their formulas.

### What happened to the Koyfin Pro plan?

Koyfin discontinued it. Subscribers moved to Premium at the same price after 30 April 2026, and lost model portfolios and mutual fund data in the move, both of which are now on the Advisor tiers only. Anyone who used those two features on Pro now pays 209 dollars a month billed annually for them, or looks elsewhere.
