# What to use instead of TC2000

TC2000 is Windows-first, US and Canada only, and scans from 49.99 a month. What covers its charts, EasyScan and alerts elsewhere, and what moving costs.

The Windows charting and scanning platform descended from Worden Brothers' TeleChart — real-time charts from 24.99 a month and the EasyScan screener from 49.99, on US and Canadian stocks and options.

## Replacements

*Ordered by how much of the original’s job each one covers, closest first. Paid placement does not affect this order.*

1. [TradingView](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradingview.md) — Charts, a screener and server-side alerts on Windows, Mac, Linux, browser and phone, across 50-plus markets rather than two, from a free plan up.
2. [TrendSpider](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trendspider.md) — Real-time scans, alerts and charts in a browser, plus the backtest TC2000 does not have; one-minute scans start at 183 a month, two-hour scans at 82.
3. [eSignal](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/esignal.md) — The Windows desktop for futures, forex and exchanges far past North America on one real-time feed, from 241 a month before exchange fees.
4. [StockCharts](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stockcharts.md) — Browser charts with saved and scheduled scans and alerts, on a Mac or a phone, usable from 29.95; the included real-time is one exchange, not the tape.
5. [Barchart.com](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/barchart-com.md) — Stock, fund and options screeners with results emailed at midday and the close, plus an options-flow suite, for 29.95 — on delayed data.
6. [Finviz Elite](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finviz-elite.md) — If EasyScan was the reason — real-time US screening with 10-second refresh, alerts and CSV export, at 39.50 a month or 299.50 a year, web only.
7. [Optuma Desktop](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/optuma.md) — Analyst-grade drawing tools, a formula-style scripting language, scans and a backtester on Windows, with end-of-day data bundled, from 810 a year.
8. [Stock Rover](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stock-rover.md) — If your scans were on fundamentals rather than price — 400 to 800 metrics on US and Canadian stocks, with portfolio analytics, from 29 a month.

## The product

We list TC2000 ourselves, and [its card](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tc2000) is the full account of it: plans, data
add-ons, coverage and limits, verified against the vendor's pricing page in September 2026 and
re-read on 9 October 2026 with the same figures. This page does not replace the card. It answers
the narrower question a TC2000 user asks once one of its limits starts to bite: what else does
this job, and what does the switch cost.

TC2000 is a technical analysis platform for US and Canadian equities, descended from Worden
Brothers' TeleChart, and its centre is EasyScan: build a condition set from built-in criteria or
from PCF, the in-platform formula language, run it across the market in real time, and push the
results onto a chart. The Windows application is the real product. Basic is 24.99 a month with
real-time US stock data, charts, watchlists and paper trading; Premium at 49.99 adds real-time
scanning, the EasyScan wizard, PCFs and 100 alerts; Premium Plus at 99.99 adds market gauges,
auto-refreshing sorts and 1,000 alerts. Annual billing takes those to 20.82, 41.65 and 83.32.

Nothing has happened to TC2000. What sends its users looking is one of a handful of fixed walls:

- **It is Windows-first.** Mac users are on the browser platform, where the feature set thins,
and the iPhone app was still listed as coming soon in September 2026.
- **Two countries, four asset classes.** Stocks, ETFs, indexes and equity options, US first with
Canadian names through the TSX index watchlists. No futures, no crypto, and forex charts but
  cannot be subscribed to.
- **Scanning is the 49.99 tier, and data is extra.** Basic has no scanner at all. Real-time options
and real-time indexes are 9.99 a month each, the consolidated tape 14.99.
- **No backtesting.** EasyScan can show what a scan would have returned on a past date, not what a
strategy would have done. There is no equity curve.
- **No API, thin export, one broker.** Chart export is a delimited text file capped at 1,500 bars;
orders go only to TC2000 Brokerage, a separate broker-dealer that accepts US residents only.

## What to use instead

Name the wall first. The answer is different for each, and a move made for the wrong reason
costs more than it saves.

**If the wall is the operating system.** [TradingView](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradingview) is the one platform
here that runs natively on Windows, macOS and Linux as well as in the browser and on phones, with
a built-in screener and alerts that run on its servers with the tab closed. US stocks arrive
real-time from Cboe One at no charge. [StockCharts](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stockcharts) and
[TrendSpider](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trendspider) are browser products with iOS and Android apps.

**If the wall is scanning.** [TrendSpider](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trendspider) is the real-time scanner in a
browser, priced by bar size: the 82-dollar Standard plan scans only on two-hour bars and up, five
minutes needs Premium at 137, one minute Enhanced at 183. [Finviz Elite](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finviz-elite) at
39.50 is a screener rather than a scan engine — 10-second refresh on real-time US quotes, alerts
and CSV export, no formula language. [Barchart.com](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/barchart-com) runs saved screens for
you at midday and the close and emails the matches.

**If the wall is testing.** TrendSpider backtests the conditions you scan on, from 2,000 candles
on Standard to 20,000 on Enhanced. [Optuma](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/optuma) has a backtester and a scripting
language written to read like Excel formulas, on Windows, at analyst prices and on end-of-day data
unless you buy a feed. A portfolio backtest with sizing and costs is a different product — see
[backtesting frameworks](https://stockmarketstack.com/categories/backtesting-frameworks).

**If the wall is the market.** [eSignal](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/esignal) is the Windows desktop that covers what
TC2000 does not: futures, forex and exchanges from CME to Asia and Latin America, on ICE's
consolidated feed, with EFS for custom studies. Real-time starts at 241 a month before exchange
fees. TradingView covers the same breadth at plan prices from 12.95, with futures and most
non-US exchanges delayed until you buy that data.

**If the scans were really about fundamentals.** [Stock Rover](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stock-rover) screens US and
Canadian stocks on 400 to 800 metrics and runs portfolio analytics beside them, from 29 a month
billed annually — not a trading screen, and not real-time below its 79-dollar Ultimate tier.

The rest of the category, and the screeners as their own list, are on the
[charting platforms and screeners page](https://stockmarketstack.com/categories/charting-screeners) and in the
[stock screeners collection](https://stockmarketstack.com/collections/stock-screeners).

## What you give up

**Real-time scanning at 49.99.** That is the number to beat, and little here beats it on the same
terms. TrendSpider's one-minute scan is 183 a month. StockCharts' included real-time is BATS
prints only, with no usable volume. Barchart.com has no consolidated real-time tape at any price.
Finviz Elite is cheaper and real-time, but it is a filter grid you refresh, not a formula engine.
Our card puts TC2000's case as the speed of its Windows client at the price of real-time
scanning. We have not timed the client; the price half of that case holds.

**PCF and the scans built on it.** PCF is TC2000's alone. Every custom indicator and condition is a
rewrite, and the new tool's built-in criteria will not line up one to one with EasyScan's.

**Options on the same screen, cheaply.** TC2000 puts option chains beside the chart, with
real-time options data at 9.99 on top. Finviz shows a 15-minute-delayed chain and screens options
only as optionable or not; StockCharts and Optuma have no options analytics; eSignal carries
chains at its own prices.

**The brokerage rebate.** If you already trade through TC2000 Brokerage, the vendor takes 25
dollars off the subscription for any month you place a trade or hold more than 30,000 dollars, up
to 300 dollars a year. No pick here pays anything back for your order flow.

## Migration notes

**Take the symbols out, because only the symbols come.** Watchlist exports carry tickers without
the RSI, ratio or PCF values shown beside them, and chart export is a comma-delimited text file
capped at 1,500 bars, from the Windows application only. Export before the subscription lapses.

**Price the data before the platform.** TC2000 includes real-time US stocks for a
non-professional at every tier. Elsewhere it differs: TradingView includes real-time US stocks
from Cboe One but bills futures and most non-US exchanges separately; eSignal adds exchange fees
that appear only during signup. If you are registered as a professional, every one of these
changes again — see the [real-time market data fees guide](https://stockmarketstack.com/guides/real-time-market-data-fees).

**Expect a rebuilt scan to return a different list.** Before trusting the new scan, run it
alongside the old one on the same day and diff the two lists. The cause is usually not your
criteria; it is how each vendor defines the session, adjusts history and computes the indicator
— the [guide on why two screeners disagree](https://stockmarketstack.com/guides/why-two-screeners-disagree) covers the usual
suspects.

## FAQ

### Is there a free alternative to TC2000?

Not for real-time scanning. TC2000's own free mode is a trading simulator on delayed data with no scanner. TradingView's Basic plan, the free Finviz screener on delayed quotes, StockCharts' no-account charts on daily and weekly bars and Barchart's 20 page views a day are all free; none of them is a live scan of the market, which is the thing TC2000 charges 49.99 for.

### What does TC2000 actually cost?

On the vendor's pricing page read on 9 October 2026, Basic is 24.99 a month, Premium 49.99 and Premium Plus 99.99, falling to 20.82, 41.65 and 83.32 billed annually. Scanning starts at Premium. Real-time options and real-time indexes are 9.99 a month each on top and the consolidated tape 14.99; professionals pay the exchanges instead.

### Is there a TC2000 alternative for a Mac?

TradingView runs natively on macOS and in the browser, and StockCharts and TrendSpider are browser products with phone apps. TC2000 itself reaches a Mac only through its browser platform, where the feature set is thinner than on Windows. eSignal and Optuma Desktop are Windows-only, so neither helps.

### Can I take my PCF formulas and EasyScan scans with me?

No. PCF is TC2000's own formula language and nothing else reads it. Every scan is rebuilt by hand in the new tool's terms — filter ranges on Finviz, scan syntax on StockCharts, conditions or JavaScript on TrendSpider, Pine on TradingView — and conditions that look identical can return different lists, because each vendor computes its indicators and sessions its own way.
