# AI stock research and analysis tools

Every card with a model in it, sorted by what the model does — drafts and explains, reads filings with citations, or issues a verdict.

## Three answers to "what does the model do"

A card lands on this page when its `ai_features` field says anything but `none`. That is all the
flag records. It does not make the product an AI product — on most of these cards the model is a
convenience inside something bought for another reason. The field has three values, set by asking
what comes out of the model:

- **Assistive** — the model drafts or explains, and the product would be the same without it.
- **Research** — the model is how the product reads a corpus nobody could read by hand.
- **Recommendations** — what comes out is a verdict: a buy, a sell, a rating, a ranked list.

## Assistive: a shortcut through software you would buy anyway

Most of the cards. [Stock Rover](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stock-rover)'s plain-language builder writes criteria into
the screen editor, and its card calls that the platform's one AI feature.
[Composer](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/composer) turns a sentence into a strategy you edit before anything trades;
[StrategyQuant X](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/strategyquant-x) and [Tradetron](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradetron) draft rule sets the
same way, and [AmiBroker](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/amibroker)'s AFL assistant runs on an OpenAI, Gemini or local
model you supply. [ETF.com](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/etf-com)'s ETF Data AI answers questions over the site's own
fund database and labels itself experimental.

The [trade journals](https://stockmarketstack.com/categories/trade-journals) give the model the narrowest view of all.
[TraderSync](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradersync), [Trademetria](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trademetria) and
[StonkJournal](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stonkjournal) read your own fills and comment on behaviour — stops ignored,
sizing that drifts after a loss — and [TradeZella](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradezella) scores a session against
rules you wrote; all four cards record that the AI makes no buy or sell calls. Trackers use the
model for plumbing: [Sharesight](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/sharesight) and [Digrin](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/digrin) read broker files
in layouts they have no template for, and [Kubera](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/kubera)'s AI Appraiser prices a watch or
a domain from your description. [PortfoliosLab](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/portfolioslab)'s copy-as-text button is, by
its card's account, the site's whole AI story.

## Research: the model reads, and should show what it read

Here the model is the product's way through a corpus, and what decides whether an answer is usable
is what sits in front of the model and whether a claim leads back to its source:

- [AlphaSense](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/alphasense) — filings, broker research, news and expert transcripts, with
inline citations that survive into the API. Enterprise contracts only.
- [Fiscal.ai](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fiscal-ai) — its own standardised financials, filings and transcripts; the
Copilot links each number to the filing page it was read from.
- [Quartr](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/quartr) — company-issued material only, call audio to slide decks, each answer
traced to a page. Transcripts exist only for calls held in English.
- [Daloopa](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/daloopa) — figures extracted from filings and presentations, each hyperlinked to
its page; the Scout agent works from Daloopa's data and nothing else.
- [Bigdata.com](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/bigdata-com) and [AskNews](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/asknews) — licensed news, plus filings and
transcripts on Bigdata.com, returned as cited passages for your own model, metered per token or
  credit.
- [Screener.in](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/screener-in) — answers from Indian companies' annual reports and calls, and
summaries of those documents rather than ratings.

[Fintool](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fintool) had this shape until Microsoft bought it in April 2026, and its card makes
the point that holds for the rest: a citation locates a passage, not the calculation done on it.

Two other shapes share the value. With [OpenBB](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/openbb), [MaverickMCP](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/maverick-mcp),
[Equibles](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/equibles) and [Finnhub](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finnhub)'s server, the model is yours and the
product is what it calls, so it sees whatever your key covers. [FinRL](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finrl),
[Qlib](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/qlib) and [Kronos](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/kronos) are machine-learning research code in which the
model is the object of study; in [FinRL-X](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finrl-x) the only language-model call produces a
sentiment label no strategy reads.

## Recommendations: what each card is actually selling

The scope rule keeps out a product whose business is telling you what to buy and lets in one that
ships a verdict beside a real product, judged on that product. Several here involve no language
model: [GuruFocus](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/gurufocus), [Finbox](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finbox), [Uncle Stock](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/uncle-stock),
[Fintel](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fintel), [WhaleWisdom](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/whalewisdom) and [YCharts](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/ycharts) print house
scores, fair values or ratings beside the data they sell, and
[Trading Economics](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trading-economics) and [FXMacroData](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fxmacrodata) publish
forecasts that are one vendor's model rather than a consensus.

Where a language model writes the verdict, judge what sits underneath.
[Trade Ideas](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trade-ideas) sells a real-time scanner; Holly's alerts with entry, stop and
target are the upper tier. [Unusual Whales](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/unusual-whales) sells the options tape, with an
agent skill's Recommended, Consider and Avoid labels on top. [HedgeFollow](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/hedgefollow) and
[Quiver Quantitative](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/quiver-quantitative) sell disclosure data and publish model-chosen
picks beside it. The open-source frameworks — [TradingAgents](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradingagents),
[AI Hedge Fund](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/ai-hedge-fund), [FinRobot](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finrobot), [FinGPT](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fingpt),
[Vibe-Trading](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/vibe-trading), [Lumibot](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/lumibot) and
[tradingview-mcp](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradingview-mcp) — run on your keys against a ticker you chose and end on
a rating, a conviction score, a price-movement call or, in Lumibot's case, an agent permitted to
place orders. Nobody signs any of it, and FinRobot's headline rating is a reprinted sell-side
grade, not the model's. This page describes these outputs and vouches for none of them.

## Where the free tier stops

The model is usually the first feature behind the paywall. [FAST Graphs](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fast-graphs)'
assistant, [WealthTrace](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/wealthtrace)'s Trace and [Koyfin](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/koyfin)'s call summaries
sit on paid or upper plans only, and [Portfolio123](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/portfolio123)'s AI Factor adds usage
fees to a $1,500-a-year plan. Allowances are counted: five messages a day free on
[Stock Events](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/stock-events), five to sixty by tier on TraderSync, 20 Copilot queries a day
on OpenBB's free Workspace. Credits are the other meter — TradeZella's 500 to 3,000 a month,
YCharts' 2,000 at roughly 100 a query, AlphaSense's 10 to 100 per question. Composer, ETF.com and
Quartr's mobile app charge nothing for theirs.

## The cards here for a different reason

[QuestDB](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/questdb) and [ClickHouse](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/clickhouse) carry the flag for a console
assistant that writes SQL, and [EconDB](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/econdb) for a chatbot over its shipping data. Choose
them as databases and data; the flag changes nothing about that.

## FAQ

### Which stock research tools use AI with citations?

AlphaSense, Fiscal.ai, Quartr and Daloopa tie an answer or a figure back to the page of the filing, transcript or deck it came from, and Bigdata.com and AskNews return cited passages for your own model to work from. A citation tells you where the passage is, not that the arithmetic built on it is right. Quartr's mobile app, AI chat included, is free; AlphaSense is sold only on an enterprise contract.

### Is an AI stock picker the same as a research assistant?

No. A research assistant answers a question out of documents and shows you which ones; a picker's output is a buy, a sell or a ranked list. This catalogue files the two under different values — Fiscal.ai's Copilot is research, Trade Ideas' Holly signals are recommendations — and leaves out any product whose business is the picks themselves.

### Can I connect my own LLM to market data?

Yes. OpenBB and MaverickMCP run as servers on your own machine, MaverickMCP on Yahoo data with no key at all, and Finnhub, EODHD and Fiscal.ai publish their own servers for the data they sell. Wealthfolio, Kubera and Parqet expose your portfolio to a model the same way, Kubera and Parqet read-only. The data still arrives under whatever plan and licence your key carries.

### Do AI features cost extra?

Often, and sometimes they are most of the price. Trade Ideas doubles from $127 to $254 a month for its signal engine, TradeFuse's AI starts on the $49 plan rather than the $29 one, and Portfolio123 charges usage fees for AI Factor on top of the plan. The open-source frameworks are free code with paid inputs — AI Hedge Fund needs a Financial Datasets key and a model key before it runs once.
