## What it is

The institutional half of a Frankfurt vendor that most readers meet through its free site. 2iQ
runs [Capitol Trades](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/capitol-trades), which is congressional disclosures with no account
and no price; this is the other business — a global insider-transactions dataset sold to funds
through a sales conversation.

What is being sold is not access to filings. Insider disclosures are public everywhere they exist;
what is expensive is making fifty countries' worth of them comparable. This dataset carries a
stable identifier for each insider across companies and filings, harmonised role and seniority
labels, event tags for placements and mergers, amendment handling, related-party links, and
symbology mapped to Bloomberg and Refinitiv identifiers. A quantitative study of insider behaviour
needs every one of those, and none of them is in the raw filings.

## Pricing

Not published, anywhere. The vendor's pages route to a contact form or a trial request, and the
AWS Data Exchange listing — brokered by BattleFin, delivered as CSV over S3 — offers a three-month
evaluation subscription free while pricing production access on request.

That is the normal shape for institutional data and it is also the reason this card carries no
number. Treat it as a contract, not a subscription, and assume a procurement process.

## Data & coverage

The vendor states 8.1 million transactions, more than 200,000 insiders and 60,000 stocks across
50 countries, averaging twelve years of history per region. Delivery is by API, a real-time feed
or an end-of-day feed, with a full historical extract available for backtesting; the AWS listing
describes the update frequency as intraday.

One caution about those figures. The AWS Data Exchange listing for the same dataset claims more
than 10 million transactions and 500,000 insiders — a different description of the same product,
published by the same vendor through a marketplace. The numbers above are the ones on 2iQ's own
site, and the disagreement is worth raising in any evaluation.

Insider transactions only. No 13F, no Schedule 13D or 13G, no congressional data.

## Integrations

An API exists but is a delivery format inside a contract rather than a self-serve product: no
public documentation, no published rate limits, no key you can mint. The alternatives are a
real-time or end-of-day feed in a format agreed with you, or CSV files over S3 through AWS Data
Exchange. Named distribution partners include WRDS, Bloomberg, FactSet, FIS, Liquidnet and Verus,
which is the honest description of who this is for.

No MCP server and no spreadsheet add-in.

## Limitations

- **No price, no self-serve, no public docs.** Nothing here can be evaluated by an individual in
an afternoon, and the trial is a sales conversation.
- **Insider transactions only.** Everything else this category covers is somewhere else.
- **The vendor's two published descriptions of the dataset disagree** on transaction and insider
counts. Neither is reckless, and it does mean the spec sheet should be confirmed in writing.
- **The terminal product is never named** on the public site — the solutions pages refer to "our
terminal product" without telling you what it is called or showing it.
- **No latency figure is published.** Real-time and intraday are the only words offered, with no
  number attached to either.

## Alternatives

[Insider Screener](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/insider-screener) is the self-serve version of the same idea — seventeen
markets, published prices, an API from $49 a month — with far less history and no identifier work.
[Fintel](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/fintel) covers thirty-odd markets for ownership and short interest at consumer
prices. [OpenInsider](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/openinsider) is free and US only. For the congressional data this
vendor also publishes, see [Capitol Trades](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/capitol-trades). The rest of the category is at
[insider, 13F and congressional trade trackers](https://stockmarketstack.com/categories/insider-13f-trackers).

## FAQ

### What does this dataset contain that a free insider site does not?

Reconciliation work. Unique identifiers for each insider across companies and filings, harmonised role and position labels, event tagging for placements and M&A, related-party identification, amendment handling, and symbology mapped to Bloomberg Open Symbology and Refinitiv identifiers. That joining is the difference between a filing feed and something you can run a study on.

### What does it cost?

Nothing is published. The vendor's site routes every enquiry to a contact or trial form, and the AWS Data Exchange listing prices production access on request while offering a three-month evaluation free. Expect an institutional contract rather than a card payment.

### How much history and how many markets?

The vendor's own figures are 8.1 million transactions covering more than 200,000 insiders and 60,000 stocks across 50 countries, with an average of twelve years of history per region. The AWS Data Exchange listing for the same dataset claims over 10 million transactions and 500,000 insiders, so the two published descriptions disagree and the vendor's own numbers are the ones quoted here.

### Does it include 13F holdings or congressional trades?

No. This is insider transactions only. The same vendor runs Capitol Trades, the free congressional tracker, but that is a separate product with its own card — the institutional dataset does not carry congressional or fund-holdings data.

### Can a private investor buy it?

In practice no. There is no self-serve tier, no price and no public API documentation, and the distribution partners named are the institutional ones — WRDS, Bloomberg, FactSet, FIS, Liquidnet, Verus. An individual wanting insider data across many markets is better served by a subscription product.
