# EarningsCall API

Earnings-call transcripts, audio and slides as JSON, self-serve from $60 a month.

**Best for:** developers who want call transcripts split by speaker and into prepared remarks and Q&A on a self-serve monthly key; not for anyone who needs history before about 2020 or to republish the text.

## What it is

A transcript vendor sold as a self-serve API key rather than a contract. EarningsCall records
company earnings calls, transcribes them by machine, and serves the text, the audio, an earnings
calendar and, on the top commercial plans, the slide deck, for what the site counts as 9,000+
companies and 119,000+ calls. The same company runs a mobile app and a chat product over the
corpus; this card is the API.

Transcripts come at levels. Basic is the whole call as one string. Enhanced adds speakers grouped
with name and title, word-level timestamps, and the call split into prepared remarks and Q&A —
the split most people actually want from a transcript, and the one that costs the jump from
Starter to Premium. Calls are addressed by exchange, ticker and the company's fiscal year and
quarter: Apple's call of 30 July 2026 is its 2026 Q3.

## Pricing

Two price lists for one API, divided by who you are rather than by volume. Individual plans run
$60, $69, $129 and $155 a month and are for personal, non-commercial use; Commercial plans run
$80, $99, $199 and $2,500. Each step up adds rate limit and a data type — enhanced transcripts,
then audio, then notifications. Limits are per minute, from 10 to 5,000; no monthly call cap is
published. Annual billing takes 20% off.

The pricing page offers a full refund within 7 days of a first purchase if the account has made
fewer than 1,000 calls. The terms say the opposite: "All sales are final" and plan purchases
are non-refundable. Get the refund in writing before relying on it.

## Data & coverage

The exchange list the SDK reads names NYSE, Nasdaq, AMEX, Cboe, TSX, TSX Venture, OTC Markets,
the London and Stockholm exchanges and the ASX. The vendor's FAQ says calls outside the US are
covered but rarer, because fewer companies there hold quarterly calls.

About half of transcripts are available within 15 minutes of a call ending; the rest wait on
the company or another official source releasing the recording, and the homepage advertises
under two hours. They are machine transcriptions, and the vendor's FAQ says they "may from time
to time contain errors".

## Integrations

REST at `v2.api.earningscall.biz`, with the key passed as an `apikey` query parameter. The
Python SDK is `earningscall` on PyPI, MIT-licensed, at 2.0.1 from 11 March 2026 and needing
Python 3.10; the JavaScript SDK of the same name on npm is at 2.0.4, published 24 December
2024. Both are the vendor's own. The Python README still says 5,000+ companies against the
site's 9,000+. Notifications arrive as webhooks on Ultimate+ and Enterprise+. There is no MCP
server.

## Limitations

- **History is short.** Most companies start in 2020. A study of guidance language across a full
cycle needs a vendor with a deeper archive.
- **Machine transcripts, one version.** Nothing on the pages we read describes a human-edited
pass or a correction feed, so an error stays unless you catch it.
- **Commercial use is defined broadly.** Any connection to a company counts, which puts most
professional readers on the Commercial list whatever their volume.
- **Raw text cannot leave your organisation.** Derivative work must be "substantially
transformed" and must not expose the raw data; trading on it automatically needs a separate
licence, even on a Commercial plan.
- **Slides sit at the top.** Slide decks appear only on the $199 Enterprise and $2,500
Enterprise+ commercial plans, and in no Individual plan's feature list.
- The terms say nothing either way about training a model on the transcripts.

## Alternatives

[Quartr API](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/quartr-api) is the contracted alternative, with written delivery SLAs,
edited transcripts after the raw ones and 16,000-plus companies, at a quoted price.
[Financial Modeling Prep](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/financial-modeling-prep) and [ROIC.ai](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/roic-ai) put
transcripts beside statements under one key. The wider shelf is in
[fundamentals and research](https://stockmarketstack.com/categories/fundamentals-research), and the trade-offs are laid out
in [How to get earnings call transcripts as data](https://stockmarketstack.com/how-to/get-earnings-call-transcripts-as-data).

## FAQ

### Does EarningsCall have a free tier?

No. The SDKs fall back to a key named demo that answers for Apple and Microsoft only — a request for JPMorgan's calls with it returned 403 on 7 October 2026. Everything else starts at $60 a month, and a first purchase can be refunded within 7 days if the account has made fewer than 1,000 calls.

### Can I use an Individual plan at work?

Not under the terms. Individual plans are for personal, non-commercial use, and the terms define commercial use to include any association with a company — being its employee or contractor is enough. Analysts and engineers using the data for an employer are Commercial customers, from $80 a month.

### How far back do EarningsCall transcripts go?

The pricing FAQ says to 2020 for most companies, and the vendor's llms.txt says five years. The demo key returned Apple calls from fiscal Q3 2018 and Microsoft from fiscal Q2 2019 on 7 October 2026, so some large caps go further. Plan on roughly six years, and check the events list for each company before building on it.

### Can I show EarningsCall transcripts on my website?

Not as raw text without a separate agreement. The terms bar displaying raw API data on any platform used by multiple people, and Commercial plans may store and transform the data but not redistribute it raw. Redistribution rights appear only on Enterprise+, at $2,500 a month.
