## What it is

A one-key REST API over 60+ exchanges: end-of-day bars, splits and dividends, intraday
candles, fundamentals, news and a screener endpoint. Breadth is the product — London,
XETRA, Warsaw, Milan, Toronto and the ASX come back from one endpoint in one ticker
format. Nobody buys EODHD for US tick depth.

## Pricing

Five personal plans: free, $19.99 for end-of-day everywhere, $29.99 to add intraday, the
screener and the real-time WebSocket, $59.99 for fundamentals alone, $99.99 for all of it.
Annual billing is ten months for twelve — $199, $299.90, $599.90, $999.90. The page renders
dollars, and its own offer markup carries the identical numerals in euros and pounds — €19.99
quoted elsewhere is the same plan, not a conversion.

Every paid plan gets the same allowance, 100,000 API calls a day at 1,000 requests a minute,
and a call is a currency rather than a request. One ticker of live data costs one call; a
technical, intraday or news request costs five; fundamentals, options and bond fundamentals
cost ten; a bulk request for a whole exchange costs 100. A hundred thousand calls is ten
thousand fundamentals pulls. The daily counter resets at midnight GMT on subscription plans
and 24 hours after the first request on marketplace products, and the minute limit comes back
in an `X-RateLimit-Remaining` header.

Read the columns before picking a plan. The $59.99 Fundamentals feed carries no prices at all —
no end-of-day, no delayed quote, no splits and dividends. The US ticks endpoint is ALL-IN-ONE
only. The WebSocket is capped at 50 simultaneous tickers on every personal plan. On top of the
plans sits a marketplace: options chains with Greeks and index constituents at $29.99 a month,
tick data at $9.99, market status from $50 to $150. Some of it the feature matrix also shows as
included in ALL-IN-ONE, so check before paying twice.

Every personal plan says *personal use*. Commercial use starts at $399/month, or $3,990 a year,
for Internal Use and $2,499/month, $24,990 a year, for Enterprise. EODHD takes the exchanges'
definition of a professional — any regulated individual, institution or business, and anyone
expensing the subscription — and says it is obliged to report every commercial user of exchange
data to the exchange concerned.

## Data & coverage

"All World" describes the end-of-day layer, and only that layer is genuinely global.
Everything faster narrows sharply. The real-time WebSocket is US plus 18 European markets —
about 12,700 US symbols and about 9,400 European ones — and it comes from Cboe, the US
side being the EDGX book rather than the consolidated tape. The rest of the world gets a
15-20 minute delayed quote. One-minute intraday reaches back to 2004 on NYSE and NASDAQ, while other exchanges start
at 5-minute and 1-hour bars in October 2020 and one-minute is documented as "not
guaranteed". Fundamentals go to 1985 in the US and 2000 elsewhere.

The vendor names four sourcing relationships — Nasdaq Cloud API for the US, Cboe for
Europe, the ASX for Australia, Quotemedia for Canada — and its commercial FAQ adds the LSE
for the UK. Everything else it attributes to "CFDs and market makers", with no per-exchange
table of source or delay.

## Integrations

Coding libraries for Python, R, Node.js, PHP and Java; Google Sheets and Excel add-ons; an
official MCP server, hosted or self-hosted, plus a Claude Code skill pack and a ChatGPT
assistant. The docs also carry a Power BI connector, a Postman collection, a NinjaTrader
adapter, a Matlab connector, a WordPress plugin and Windows and Linux end-of-day downloaders.

## Limitations

- Every headline price is personal use, and the first commercial licence costs $399/month.
- Real-time means US and Europe. Asian, Canadian and Australian listings are delayed.
- Intraday history outside the US effectively begins in October 2020.
- The daily allowance is calls, not requests, and the expensive endpoints are the ones you
want: fundamentals at ten calls each, bulk exchange pulls at a hundred.
- The free plan is 20 calls a day and one year of end-of-day history. It is a sample of the
response shapes, not a prototyping budget.
- The site disclaimer says pricing is aggregated by VWAP from "over 100+ sources" and is
"not appropriate for trading purposes" — awkward beside the direct-contract claim.

## FAQ

### Does EODHD really cover non-US exchanges?

For end-of-day data, yes — 60+ exchanges behind one ticker format and one key, which is the reason most people buy it. Real-time streaming is US plus 18 European markets; everywhere else is a 15–20 minute delayed quote at any price.

### Can I use EODHD data in a product I sell?

Not on the $19.99–$99.99 plans, which are all labelled personal use. Commercial licensing starts at $399/month for Internal Use, and that tier still forbids showing the data to anyone outside your company. Above it are Enterprise at $2,499/month and a Custom quote; the vendor does not publish what either permits.

### Is the EODHD free tier enough to build against?

No. It allows 20 API calls a day, plus a one-off bonus of 500, and its end-of-day history stops at the past year. It is more than a price feed — the 15-20 minute delayed quote, the news feed, search and the exchange ticker lists are all in it, and so are the MCP server and the ChatGPT assistant — but fundamentals, intraday, the screener and the WebSocket are not. It is a sample of the response shapes, not a prototyping budget.

### Does EODHD have an MCP server?

Yes — an official server exposing 72 read-only tools, available both hosted and self-hosted, alongside Google Sheets and Excel add-ons.

### How many EODHD API requests do 100,000 calls a day actually buy?

It depends which endpoint you hit, because a call is a unit of currency rather than a request. One ticker of live data costs one call, a technical, intraday or news request costs five, fundamentals and options cost ten, and a bulk request for a whole exchange costs 100. The 100,000 daily allowance on every paid plan is therefore 10,000 fundamentals requests. Separately, no plan may exceed 1,000 requests a minute.
