A free US ETF screener, flows tool and fund pages on FactSet data, with an AI assistant.

**Best for:** investors and advisers screening US-listed ETFs and checking daily flows, spreads and premiums for free; not for UCITS funds, holdings overlap between two funds, or data you can trust without a second source.

## What it is

ETF.com is an ETF news and media business with a free toolset in the middle. The tools are the reason it belongs here: a screener with filters
for classification, location, analysis, features, performance, trading data, issuer and index,
whose results can be saved, compared, added to a watchlist or exported; a fund-flows tool that
returns net flows for a fund, an issuer or an asset class over any date range; a comparison
page covering fund facts, cost, performance, holdings, factors and ESG; and an ETF Stock
Holdings lookup that lists the funds holding a given stock.

The fund page is the densest single view. Beside price and assets it carries index
methodology and the segment benchmark each fund is classified against, a written analysis of
the fund's structure — SPY's notes that as a unit investment trust it cannot lend securities or
reinvest dividends between distributions — net and custom fund flows, holdings and allocation,
daily spread and maximum premium/discount, tax exposure, fund structure and fit, and MSCI ESG
fund metrics.

**ETF Data AI**, a chat assistant over the same database, is new and free for signed-in
members. ETF.com describes it as experimental and as an informational tool, not advice.

## Pricing

Nothing is sold to the reader. The screener, flows, comparison and fund pages are open without
an account; a free account is needed for ETF Data AI, and the watchlist tool holds up to five
lists. The
business is advertising and sponsored content — sponsor podcasts, a newswire block of press
releases on fund pages, events and awards — which is the price of the free tools, and the
reason a press release about a CFD broker can appear under "Latest news on SPY".

## Data & coverage

US-listed ETFs: the screener returned 5,871 funds on 7 October 2026, while the same page's
copy still says "over 4,300" and the AI page says "5,000+". The data comes from FactSet, with
MSCI ESG fund metrics on the ESG tab. Quotes on fund pages were last-close figures with bid and
ask sizes; flows are daily, in millions of dollars.

The data has visible errors. On 7 October 2026 IVV's expense ratio appeared as 10% in both the
screener and SPY's competing-funds table — the fund charges 0.03% — which would move IVV to the
bottom of any cost-sorted screen. The site's own disclaimer disclaims accuracy, completeness and
timeliness in capitals.

## Integrations

None. There is no API, no broker link and no alerting. The screener carries an Export button;
the format is not documented. A free newsletter is the only push channel.

## Limitations

- **US listings only.** No UCITS, Canadian or Asian funds.
- **No pairwise overlap tool.** Holdings are per fund, and the stock lookup runs the other way.
- **Spot-check the numbers.** A 10% expense ratio on a 0.03% fund survived on two pages.
- **Advertising and press releases share the page** with the data, including on fund pages.

## Alternatives

[Trackinsight](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trackinsight) is the free alternative with global listings and
tracking-difference figures. For a fund-against-fund holdings overlap, use
[ETF Research Center](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/etf-research-center). Flow-led research with look-through
exposure for advisers is what [ETF Action](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/etf-action) sells.

## FAQ

### Is ETF.com free?

Yes. The screener, the fund-flows tool, comparisons, fund pages and the stock-holdings lookup carry no subscription, and the site is paid for by advertising and sponsored content. A free account is needed for the ETF Data AI assistant.

### Where does ETF.com get its data?

From FactSet, which its AI page names as the source behind the screener, fund flows and comparison tools. Data is not error-free — on 7 October 2026 both the screener and SPY's competing-funds table listed IVV's expense ratio as 10% against 0.03% for VOO, a figure Trackinsight printed as 0.03%. Check a number that looks odd against the issuer's own page.

### Does ETF.com have an AI tool?

Yes. ETF Data AI is a chat assistant over the same FactSet-sourced database, about 5,000 funds and 20 years of history, free for signed-in members and rolling out to them first. It answers questions like which large-cap growth funds are cheapest; ETF.com labels it experimental and capable of mistakes.

### Can I see ETF fund flows on ETF.com?

Yes, free. The Fund Flows tool takes an ETF, an issuer and brand, or an asset class and returns net flows over a time interval and date range you set, and the front page lists the day's top five inflows and outflows by fund and by issuer. Daily, weekly and monthly flow articles and issuer league tables are published alongside.
