## What it is

ETF Copilot opens a US equity ETF up by its holdings. It answers two questions before you buy a
second fund. How much of it do you already own? And how much of the fund sits in a handful of
names? Each fund's companies are matched to their fundamentals and summed at the fund's weights.
That gives overlap with any other fund, top-10 share, the number of holdings that carry half the
weight, and theme exposure to the Magnificent 7, AI, semiconductors and memory. The same
look-through feeds valuation multiples, which are measured against the fund's category and
against its own ten-year history.

The free part is unusually open. A pair page such as VOO against VTI needs no account. On 6
November 2026 it gave 89% overlap by weight, said that over 99% of VOO sits inside VTI, and
counted 502 shared holdings. An unpublished pair, SCHD against XLE, rendered the same way at 15%.
The market-wide overlap page counts 599 pairs among the 1,367 funds that are more than 90%
identical. The concentration page ranks every fund from MSOS, with 100% in its top ten, down to
small-cap funds at 2%.

The other half of the product is a score. Every fund gets an overall 0–10 and factor scores for
value, growth, quality, risk and return, ranked within its category. Eleven ranked lists, 40
theme shortlists and a daily "Ideas" screen are built on them. That is why `ai_features` is
`recommendations`, though no language model is involved: see Limitations.

The publisher is Watermark Holdings LLC. Its terms (effective 8 October 2026) and privacy policy
name it, and every Pro page's footer calls ETF Copilot "a product of" it. The domain was
registered on 4 March 2026; the first Wayback capture is from 2 May.

## Pricing

**Free** has two layers. The public research pages need no account and, per the terms, are not
view-limited: overlap, concentration, theme exposure, each fund's page and any pair page.
Inside the app, a free account gets three fund or insight views a day, three searches, one
comparison, and the top ten of each ranking.

**Pro** is $20 a month or $199 a year. It adds full rankings, unlimited views and comparisons,
detailed metric tabs, a watchlist, a twice-weekly digest and personalised alerts. It also unlocks
fund prices and holdings, which the free pages do not print. The first charge of a subscription
period can be refunded within seven days; promotional charges cannot. The app's code handles a
Pro trial, but no public page states its length.

## Data & coverage

US-listed equity ETFs only: 1,367 on the home page's 4 November count, against "roughly a
thousand" on the methodology page. US-listed funds of foreign stocks such as EWS and EMXC are
included. A fund needs a year of trading history and enough matched holdings to be scored, and
exposure is shown only when 90% of its weight resolves to companies. Funds of funds and
swap-based leveraged funds therefore drop out.

Everything is end-of-day. Pages carry the date of the data and the board rebuilds each trading
day. Holdings, prices and fundamentals come from a market-data provider the site does not name.
Expense ratio, yield and assets are passed through as the issuer reports them; every other figure
is ETF Copilot's own arithmetic. The methodology states which inputs go into each score: EV/EBITDA
and P/E trailing and forward for value, consensus earnings growth plus yield for growth, ROE, ROIC
and EBITDA margin for quality, and volatility and drawdowns for risk. It does not publish the
weights.

## Integrations

None. No API, no export, no spreadsheet add-in. The only things that leave the site are chart
images from the overlap and concentration pages. The exposure methodology says outright that
holdings and weights are licensed and are not published, so you cannot download the constituents
behind an overlap figure. The privacy policy mentions a mobile app and push alerts, but no app was
found in the US App Store on 6 November 2026.

## Limitations

- **It ranks funds, and says it does not recommend them.** The methodology page says "no buy,
sell or hold calls". The vendor's own pages lean the other way. The support page tells readers
to tap "Why it's top pick" on a fund, and the how-it-works page calls the Ideas feed of "ETFs
standing out most right now" the heart of the app. Fund pages are titled "Is VOO a good
investment?", and the written case for each of the day's ten selected funds is sold in Pro. The
scores are a house model over consensus estimates, not a fact about the fund. On 4 November it
put VOO at 7.1 and VTI at 6.6.
- **Theme lists do not match their own definitions.** Memory is defined as companies that make
memory and storage, yet the list includes Nvidia, Broadcom, AMD and Qualcomm. That is how VOO
reads 16% memory. The AI list of 54 companies includes 10X Genomics, IQVIA and Uber, and still
carries Altc Acquisition, the SPAC that became Oklo in 2024. The "Best AI ETFs" page lists five
cybersecurity and cloud-software funds, all with "AI" exposure between 17% and 39%.
- **Percentages, never names.** Overlap gives weights and counts. Without Pro you cannot see which
stocks two funds share, and even with Pro nothing is exportable.
- **Equity only, US-listed only**, with no screener you can set your own filters on. Pair
pages stretch to three funds, but there is no overlap across a whole portfolio.
- **The pages disagree on small things.** The methodology describes four scores while fund pages
print five, Return included. The concentration table's column "Holdings to reach 50% of weight"
  is filled with percentages.

## Alternatives

[ETF Research Center](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/etf-research-center) is the closest match. It shows the shared
holdings by name (five rows anonymously, all of them with a free login), covers Canadian and UCITS
funds, and prints its own rating too. For overlap across a whole portfolio rather than a pair,
[ETF Insider](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/etf-insider) breaks every fund down at once. [ETF Action](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/etf-action)
is the adviser's choice for daily flows with look-through behind them, and
[ETF.com](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/etf-com) is the free screener when the question is which funds exist at all
rather than what they hold.

## FAQ

### Is ETF Copilot's overlap tool free?

Yes, and without an account. Any pair of the US equity ETFs it tracks opens at a compare address on its site and gives overlap by weight in both directions and the shared-holdings count; its terms say the overlap, concentration and exposure pages are not view-limited. It prints percentages and counts only, never the list of shared stocks.

### Who publishes ETF Copilot?

Watermark Holdings LLC, which its terms and privacy policy name as the provider, under North Carolina law. The mailing address the vendor gives is a commercial registered agent's in Sheridan, Wyoming. Neither register could be read on 6 November 2026, so the state of formation is unconfirmed.

### Does ETF Copilot cover bond ETFs?

No. Only US-listed equity ETFs, 1,367 on 4 November 2026, including US-listed funds of foreign stocks. Bond, money-market, commodity, currency, leveraged and inverse funds are out of scope, and a fund whose holdings do not resolve to companies for at least 90% of its weight gets no exposure figure.
