## What it is

Finviz Elite is the subscription tier of a screener most people already use for free. The free
version is the reason anyone knows the product: 87 filters over the whole NASDAQ, NYSE and AMEX
list - 11,617 tickers with no filter applied, as of 14 September 2026 - a heatmap, and quotes
Finviz's own FAQ describes as delayed one minute, not the fifteen or twenty minutes third-party
reviews keep repeating.

"Advanced filters" is the marketing phrase and it is narrower than it sounds. Both tiers see the
same 87 filters; what Elite sells is the range. 86 of them carry a "Custom (Elite only)" entry in
the dropdown, so a free account chooses from Finviz's preset buckets - P/E under 15, under 20,
under 25 - and an Elite account types its own number. The after-hours price and change filters,
and the intraday choices inside the performance filters, are Elite-only outright.

The rest of what Elite buys is straightforward. Real-time quotes with premarket from 4:00 AM and
after-hours to 8:00 PM ET. Unlimited saved presets against 50, and 100 rows a page instead of 20.
Auto-refresh every 10 seconds instead of every three minutes, which is what turns the screener
into an intraday scanner. Full ETF holdings rather than a slice, peer and correlation panels on
the quote page, and intraday maps. And export: CSV and Excel, off the screener, portfolios, prices
and groups.

The portfolio is a watchlist with cost basis and trade notes - 100 portfolios of 500 holdings,
no brokerage sync - not a reason to buy the product.

## Pricing

$39.50 a month or $299.50 a year, which is $24.96 a month. One tier, all features; the trial is
7 days, needs a card, and renews into a paid plan unless cancelled. Refunds exist only inside the
first 30 days and only on a written request; anything after that, Finviz says, is non-refundable.

## Data & coverage

US only, and Finviz says there are no plans to change that: NASDAQ, NYSE and AMEX, so non-US
companies appear only as US-listed ADRs. Financial statements go back 8 years on Elite against 3
on the free tier. Futures, forex, crypto and index pages exist, but screening is stocks and ETFs,
and futures stay delayed 20 minutes on both tiers.

## Integrations

Export is the only integration surface there is. Elite unlocks authenticated CSV and Excel
download of the screener, portfolios, prices and groups, and Finviz's own pitch for it is setting
up "your own Automated Workflow / AI Agents" - which is to say a file a scheduled job fetches, not
an endpoint it queries. The footer's "API and Exports" link goes to the Elite pricing page, not to
documentation. Alerts leave by email and browser push and cover stock, price, screener, portfolio
and calendar triggers, unlimited on Elite and absent on free. Nothing else connects: no webhooks,
no spreadsheet add-in, and no native app for the push to land in.

## Limitations

- **Backtesting is gone.** Finviz ended it on 26 March 2026, saved backtests were not
  recoverable, and the vendor states no replacement is planned. Most Finviz reviews on the web
  still list it.
- **No API.** There is no documented endpoint, no published rate limits and no client library.
  Anything scripted is fetching an authenticated download URL.
- **No raw history for sale.** The FAQ says Finviz is not allowed to sell raw historical data to
  third parties, so the export is a snapshot of the current screen, not a history dump.
- **Web only.** No official iOS or Android app, so "push notifications" means browser push.
- **Options are view-only.** Every quote page has a chain with greeks and implied volatility, but
  the site's own disclaimer delays options by 15 minutes and the screener's only options field is
  a yes/no "optionable" filter - there is no screening on strikes, IV or open interest.
