## What it is

Kibot is a historical market-data vendor — files, not a feed. You buy a universe and an interval
once, download gzipped CSV, and keep it. Minute and daily bars for US stocks and ETFs go back to
1998, tick data with bid and ask to 2009, and the operator is Oricsoft, which is the name on the
licence agreement rather than on the product.

The liveness question comes first, because the site spent years looking abandoned and that
reputation outlived the fact. The Internet Archive was still serving the old ASP.NET design on
12 May 2026; by 14 July 2026 the site had been rebuilt, and that rebuild is what is live now. The
data is current too — the free one-minute samples run through 11 September 2026, the last completed
session before this card was written, and the guest API returns daily bars ending the same day.

## Pricing

Packages are priced per universe and per interval, from 50 dollars for 30-minute bars on the top 10
continuous futures to 12,600 for tick-with-bid-ask across every US stock and ETF. Three bundles cut
across that grid at 990, 2,400 and 4,800. Everything is charged once, through FastSpring.

What "lifetime" buys is narrower than it sounds, and the buy page is candid about it: a purchase
updates daily for 45 days, then quarterly at 3, 6 and 9 months, and after a year the files stay
downloadable but stop moving. Continuing updates are a separate subscription — 14 dollars a month
for end-of-day only, rising through 24, 49 and 69 to 139 for Premium, the only tier whose API
access covers all intervals rather than end-of-day alone.

The free tier is real and needs no account: daily end-of-day bars for every US stock and ETF
covered, three months of one-minute data for two symbols, a month of tick for two more, and a guest
API login limited to daily data.

## Data & coverage

18,000+ US stocks, 6,900+ ETFs, 9,600+ futures contracts, 1,100+ forex pairs, 1,200+ indexes and
45,000+ OTC bulletin-board stocks. Intraday resolutions run from tick through 1-second, 10-second
and the standard minute multiples; end-of-day history is advertised as reaching back as far as 64
years. Stocks and ETFs ship as three parallel series — unadjusted, split-adjusted, and adjusted for
splits and dividends — which beats a single adjusted file when you need to reconcile against a
broker statement.

Sessions include pre-market from 8:00 AM and after-hours to 6:30 PM ET, with the vendor noting that
filtering is looser outside the regular session and spikes do get through. Missing minutes mean no
prints — Kibot does not synthesise bars, which is the right default and makes gap handling the
buyer's problem.

## Integrations

Four delivery paths carry the same files: direct download links in the account area, an FTP server
of compressed update archives, the Kibot Agent desktop tool for Windows, and the HTTP API at
`api.kibot.com`. The API is deliberately primitive — every command is a URL with query parameters
and the response body is the data itself, comma-separated for history and tab-separated for
adjustments, with no JSON or XML envelope. Sessions are keyed to the caller's IP rather than to a cookie and idle out after 20 minutes, five
concurrent connections are recommended against a hard ceiling of 40 in flight, and all requests must
come from one registered IP.
NinjaTrader-formatted output is a parameter.

There is no official Python client, only sample code in eight languages. Note that `pip install
kibot` fetches an unrelated KiCad automation tool by another author, not anything to do with this
vendor.

## Limitations

- **Survivorship bias is only partly handled.** The vendor's own FAQ answers "partially" — delisted
names are included by how liquid they were at delisting, and the historical list is incomplete.
- **Tickers get reused**, so one symbol file can hold two unrelated companies separated by a gap.
Separating them cleanly is a support request.
- **Authorization is per symbol.** A subscription refreshes only data already bought; it is an
update service, not access to the catalogue. Any new purchase of intraday or tick data also
restarts the update schedule for the whole account; buying end-of-day data alone does not.
- **No redistribution at all**, internal use only, two computers, and the restriction outlives the
  subscription.
- **US only, and no options data** at any price. No real-time either — Premium's intraday quotes
are delayed 30 minutes and there is no streaming.
- **Refunds are limited**: custom-order data is non-refundable once delivered, and a subscription
is not refunded because it is no longer wanted.

## Alternatives

[Norgate Data](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/norgate-data) is the direct comparison for backtesting and handles
survivorship bias far more thoroughly, but rents rather than sells. [AlgoSeek](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/algoseek) and
[Databento](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/databento) both go deeper into tick and full-depth data for people who need the
order book rather than bars. [Tiingo](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tiingo) is the cheap end for daily history alone.

## FAQ

### Is Kibot still active in 2026?

Yes, and this is worth checking because the site sat on the same unchanged design for years. It was rebuilt between 12 May and 14 July 2026, the checkout runs through FastSpring, and the free one-minute samples published on the site carry bars through 11 September 2026 — the last completed trading day before 14 September 2026.

### What does "lifetime access" actually include?

The full history at the time of purchase, kept permanently, plus daily updates for 45 days and then quarterly refreshes at 3, 6 and 9 months. After the first year the files stay downloadable but stop advancing, current through the 9-month update. Keeping them fresh past that needs a subscription, from 14 to 139 dollars a month.

### Is Kibot data survivorship-bias free?

Only partly, and the vendor says so itself. Its FAQ answers the question with "partially" — some delisted and bankrupt companies are included, but the historical list is not complete, and coverage of delisted names is driven by how liquid they were when they stopped trading. Index-constituent backtests built on it will still be optimistic.

### Can I redistribute or resell Kibot data?

No. The licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable and for the licensee's own internal use, with resale, redistribution, rental and transfer all prohibited, and use limited to two computers. Those restrictions survive cancellation and continue to apply to files already downloaded.
