## What it is

Navexa is a portfolio tracker from Melbourne, founded in 2017 by a solo developer, sold as two
different products under one name. On the Australian site it is a tax tool: every sale is matched
to the purchase parcels it came from, the 50% CGT discount is applied parcel by parcel to holdings
kept over a year, and the year is totalled into a report laid out against the field codes of the
ATO's myTax return. On the global site, in US dollars, the same software is a performance and
income tracker with the tax half switched off.

The performance numbers use a modified Dietz method, so deposits and withdrawals are weighted by
when they happened, and every return is split into capital gain, income and currency movement that
sum to the total. Brokerage goes into the cost base. Benchmarks are any listed security or coin,
with the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, ASX 200 and Bitcoin preset.

## Pricing

No free plan, a 14-day trial without a card, and, for new customers, annual billing only. The
pricing page opens on the annual toggle and also offers a monthly one, but the help centre says
monthly billing is closed to anyone signing up now — trust the help centre here, it was updated
on 28 September 2026 and it is the page describing what checkout actually does.

In Australia that is A$240, A$300 and A$480 a year including GST for one, three and ten
portfolios, and Pro for advisers from A$180 a month. All three individual plans carry the CGT,
taxable income and myTax reports; Standard adds unrealised CGT, and only Premium lets you choose
which parcels a sale draws from. The US-dollar plans are 90, 126 and 192 dollars a year and include
no tax reports. One portfolio is one tax entity — you, a joint account, an SMSF, a trust — so a
household with an SMSF is already on Standard.

## Data & coverage

Listed shares and ETFs on the ASX, NYSE and Nasdaq at a 20-minute delay, and end-of-day on most
other markets: TSX and TSX Venture, LSE, Xetra and Frankfurt, the Euronext venues, Switzerland, the
Nordics, Hong Kong, mainland China, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Mexico, Israel, South Africa and more.
Australian managed funds, crypto at one-minute pricing, cash accounts, investment properties and
manual custom assets round it out. Splits, consolidations and dividend reinvestment are handled
automatically.

## Integrations

Navexa claims 175+ broker and exchange integrations over OAuth or API keys, covering the Australian
retail brokers — CommSec, SelfWealth, Stake, Superhero, nabtrade, Pearler — alongside Interactive
Brokers, Schwab, Fidelity and Robinhood, plus a CSV import for anything else. Exports are XLSX and
PDF.

There is a public REST API on every plan, with API keys for your own data and OAuth for third-party
apps, rate-limited per portfolio held. And there is a hosted MCP server at `mcp.navexa.com`, which
answered an unauthenticated request with 401 on 4 October 2026. It exposes up to 43 tools in
selectable modes, from a read-only set of 15 to one that can create and delete trades, so an AI
assistant can run the CGT report or simulate a sale against your real holdings.

## Limitations

- **Tax reporting is Australian only.** Not New Zealand, not the UK, not the US.
- **No NZX, Tokyo, Singapore or Indian listings.** Navexa says the last three are planned for 2026;
NZX has no date. Those holdings have to be custom investments with manual prices.
- **The integration list is not pruned.** It still names FTX and Bittrex, both shut, so 175+
  overstates what will actually connect.
- **Annual payment upfront** from day one, though the six-month refund window takes most of the
  risk out of it.

## Alternatives

[Sharesight](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/sharesight) is the incumbent this is usually weighed against: a free plan, monthly
billing, and tax engines for Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
[Portseido](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/portseido) and [Snowball Analytics](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/snowball-analytics) have free plans
and no tax reports, which is the right trade for an investor outside Australia — the USD Navexa
plans give up the one thing that sets Navexa apart. See all

## FAQ

### Does Navexa produce tax reports outside Australia?

No. The CGT, taxable income, unrealised gains and ATO myTax reports exist only on the AUD plans, and Navexa's own help centre states that USD plans include no tax reporting at all. An investor in the US, UK, Canada or New Zealand gets performance and income tracking and has to build the tax figures elsewhere.

### Can I pay for Navexa monthly?

Not as a new customer. The pricing page still has a Monthly toggle showing A$27 or US$10 for Basic, but Navexa's help centre, updated 28 September 2026, says new customers pay the full annual amount upfront on every AUD and USD plan. Existing monthly subscribers keep monthly billing until they change plan or cancel.

### Is there a free version of Navexa?

No. There is a 14-day trial with Premium features and no card, and a demo portfolio. After the trial the account stays readable but you cannot keep using it without a plan. The trade-off is a six-month money-back guarantee written into Navexa's terms, which is unusually long.

### How does Navexa compare with Sharesight for an Australian investor?

Both produce ATO-ready CGT and income reports and both sync from most Australian brokers. Navexa is cheaper at the bottom — A$240 a year for one portfolio with the myTax report — and offers five parcel-matching methods including manual selection on Premium. Sharesight has a free plan and tax engines for New Zealand and Canada as well, which Navexa does not.
