## What it is

Optuma Web App went live on 28 July 2026 after roughly seven years of work, and it is a rebuild
rather than a companion app: the analysis engine and the data system were both written from
scratch, so the heavy work - a script across a few thousand codes, a 25-year Russell 3000
backtest - runs on Optuma's servers instead of your laptop. Scans and backtests are assembled as
Flows, a node graph you can step through node by node, and Models hold long, short, rebalancing,
buy-and-hold and active-tilt strategies. Scripting syntax is identical to the desktop's, so
existing scripts run unchanged. The current build is v1.5, shipped August 2026, which added a
Signal Tester in beta.

The audience is different too: the site sells it to analysts, wealth managers and RIAs, and the
vendor now calls the older product Optuma Desktop.

## Pricing

Four per-seat plans, none self-serve - access is sales-led and starts with a demo, and no trial
length is published. Charts is $165 per user per month ($150 annual), Research $330 ($300),
Portfolio $693 ($630) and Enterprise $5,000 for three users. Portfolio and Enterprise are
waitlist only. The first two seats pay full price and further seats are discounted, on request.
Every plan has a twelve-month minimum term with a 30-day cooling-off period and no early exit
after it. There is no free tier, and a desktop licence buys none of this.

## Data & coverage

Data is bundled rather than bought as groups, which is the sharpest break from the desktop
pricing: global equity history, fundamentals, GICS, crypto and snapshot quotes on some exchanges
on every plan, plus 380 million factor data points across 375,000 securities from Research up.

## Integrations

Report templates export to PDF or PowerPoint, generated server-side and schedulable, and
Present online relays a slide show to viewers with no login. There is no public API on the plans
currently sold - Enterprise lists API access for firm portfolios and security lists, but that
plan is not yet available - and no webhooks or broker connection.

## Limitations

- Daily is the smallest bar. No intraday, no real-time, and no third-party feed to bolt on.
- Server compute is metered: backtests and signal tests spend a monthly token allowance, capped
again by a daily quota, that you can exhaust and then have to top up. Storage is capped too,
and new boards, reports, exports and tests are blocked while you are over it.
- No order routing. The desktop's Interactive Brokers trading does not cross over.
- Portfolios, custodian connections, client reports and market-regime scorecards are all still
  roadmap items.
- No options chains or greeks, no news, no tax reporting.

## Alternatives

[Optuma Desktop](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/optuma) remains on sale and is the cheaper entry at $810 a year, with real-time via a
third-party feed and trading through Interactive Brokers - the trade is your own CPU. [TradingView](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tradingview)
is the far cheaper browser answer if charts are all you want, and [Koyfin](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/koyfin) covers the analyst
workflow without the twelve-month commitment. The rest of the field is in

## FAQ

### How much does the Optuma Web App cost?

Charts is $165 per user per month and Research $330, or $150 and $300 per user per month if you pay annually. Portfolio ($693) and Enterprise ($5,000 for three users) are waitlist only. Every plan carries a minimum twelve-month term even when billed monthly.

### Does an Optuma Desktop licence include the Web App?

No. Optuma sells them as separate products, on separate price lists and under separate licence clauses in its terms. Existing desktop clients were given a one-month free trial of the web app when it launched in July 2026, not continuing access.

### Can the Optuma Web App show intraday charts?

No. The smallest bar is daily, with weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly above it. Intraday data is still an unshipped roadmap item, pending agreements with Optuma's data providers.
