## What it is

Quiver Quantitative collects things filed with the US government and maps them to tickers:
congressional stock trades, politician net worth, government contracts, corporate lobbying, PAC
donations, SEC Form 4 insider transactions, 13F institutional holdings, top shareholders, patents,
executive compensation and off-exchange volume. None of it is market data — there is no quote, bar
or options chain anywhere in the product.

It is sold twice. `api.quiverquant.com` is a REST API with a published OpenAPI spec (52 paths,
mostly `live` and `historical` variants of each dataset, with `bulk` downloads for only four) and
its own tier ladder. The
website is the same data as browsable pages, free and ad-supported, wrapped in screeners,
backtesters, alerts and a strategy product.

## Pricing

Only the API's prices are published. Hobbyist is $30/month ($25 billed annually, $300 a year) and
buys the political half: congress trading and holdings, politician net worth, corporate donors,
government contracts, lobbying, off-exchange, Trump trades. Trader is $75/month ($62.50 annually,
$750 a year) and adds the SEC filing half — insider trading, hedge fund activity, top
shareholders, patents, executive compensation, app ratings and the Quiver newsfeed. Both are
marked non-commercial. Commercial use and redistribution require the Commercial plan, which is
contact-priced and bundles optional marketing placement on the site and newsletter.

A third-party add-on sits on the same page: New Constructs fundamental ratings at $199/month
($183 billed annually), sold through the same key.

The consumer subscription is a different matter. `quiverquant.com/pricing/` returns a 302 to
`/register/?next=pricing`, and archived captures show that redirect in place since at least
February 2025 — you cannot see what the website's paid tiers cost without creating an account, so
this card does not state them.

## Data & coverage

US only, and every dataset is a filing or a disclosure. The datasets update daily; the
off-exchange endpoint is documented as returning *yesterday's* activity, which is the right
mental model for the whole product. Ticker pages do show a price chart, but it is an embedded
TradingView widget carrying that attribution, not Quiver's own.

Dataset pages — congress trading, insiders, lobbying, patents, compensation, ETF holdings — load
without an account. The two backtesters, the alerts console and the bulk export tool redirect to
a login.

## Integrations

REST with a bearer key, documented through Stoplight Elements. A first-party MCP server at
`mcp.quiverquant.com` ships with every plan and exposes 18 tools gated by the same key — an
unauthenticated POST answers 401, so it is running. There is a vendor-published Python client,
`quiverquant` on PyPI, uploaded by a Quiver address and last released at 0.2.6 in May 2026; it is
a thin wrapper, not a separate product.

## Limitations

- No free API tier and no published trial. The entry price for a key is $30 a month.
- Hobbyist has none of the SEC filing data. Insiders and 13F start at $75.
- Both published tiers forbid commercial use, so anything you ship needs the contact-priced plan.
- The website's own subscription prices are behind a registration wall.
- The STOCK Act lag is the source's, not Quiver's, but it caps what the congress data can ever be:
a report is due the earlier of 30 days from notification or 45 days from the trade.
- The product does not stop at data. Quiver Strategies publishes ranked backtested portfolios with
a copytrade button and an upcoming-trades tab, including LLM-built ones — "Claude - Quiver
Enhanced" and "ChatGPT - Quiver Enhanced", backtested only since March 2026 — described by the
vendor as asking a model to "find strong investment opportunities" daily. That is a list of
trades to place, under a disclaimer that the performance shown is hypothetical. The site also
carries paid brokerage marketing, disclosed in its own footer. The API is the half that sells
you the filings and leaves the conclusion to you.

## Alternatives

[Unusual Whales](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/unusual-whales) carries congressional and insider filings too, alongside
the options tape Quiver does not have, at a higher API price.
[QuantConnect](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/quantconnect) resells Quiver's congress and insider feeds inside its own
data library if the destination is a backtest rather than your own code.
[Capitol Trades](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/capitol-trades) covers the congressional half alone, free and without an
account, but offers no API. The rest of the category is at [insider, 13F and congressional trade trackers](https://stockmarketstack.com/categories/insider-13f-trackers);
the [market data APIs](https://stockmarketstack.com/categories/market-data-apis) next door sell prices, which this one does not.

## FAQ

### Does the Quiver API have a free tier?

No. The cheapest key is Hobbyist at $30 a month. The website's dataset pages are readable without an account, but that is the ad-supported site, not the API — a key is a separate purchase.

### How stale is the congressional trade data?

As stale as the filing. A House periodic transaction report is due the earlier of 30 days from when the member was notified or 45 days from the trade, so a purchase can be six weeks old the first time anyone can see it. The API returns TransactionDate and ReportDate separately, which is the only way to tell.

### Can I redistribute Quiver data inside a product I sell?

Not on Hobbyist or Trader — the pricing page marks both non-commercial. Commercial use and redistribution sit on the Commercial plan, which is contact-priced.

### Is there an MCP server?

Yes, a first-party one at mcp.quiverquant.com, authenticated with the same API key and included with every plan. It exposes 18 tools; Hobbyist keys reach 10 of them.
