## What it is

Scanz is a real-time scanner for active US stock traders, and the successor of EquityFeed, which
the company says has been in the trade for twenty years. It is built around four kinds of scan,
each a separate workspace. **Data scans** filter the market continuously on 65-plus real-time
criteria — price, volume, gaps, VWAP, moving averages, RSI and stochastics — on any timeframe from
one minute to daily, across pre-market, regular and after-hours sessions. **Signal scans** stream
discrete events instead of a standing list: fourteen types including new highs and lows,
crossovers, relative-volume spikes, float rotation and block trades. **News scans** and **SEC
filing scans** filter the headline and filing stream for every US ticker, with keyword search and advanced filters.

Around the scans sit what the vendor calls decision support: a filterable Level 2 book with time
and sales, charts with indicators, a trade-prints window linked to a scan, watchlists and
symbol-specific alerts with several conditions each. Ready-made scans and watchlist templates live
in a Discover section added in the August and September 2026 releases.

## Pricing

Starter, $89 a month, runs in the browser and as a mobile web app: one scan at a time, unlimited
experimenting, but one saved scan of each kind, one watchlist of twenty symbols and no alerts.
Pro, $199, is the plan most of the product assumes — the Windows and Mac desktop app, multiple
monitors and layouts, simultaneous scans, unlimited saved scans, alerts and watchlists, and custom
data columns. Ultra, $999 through sales, adds API access, automated trading hooks, scans built for
you, and a dedicated rep.

Level 2, charts and trade prints are in all three plans, and Scanz says every plan includes
real-time data and news. Starter and Pro have a 7-day trial that needs a card and converts
on day seven. Annual billing exists inside the app, at a price the pricing page does not show. All
sales are final.

## Data & coverage

US stocks on Nasdaq, NYSE, AMEX and OTC markets, real time, including pre-market and after-hours.
Scanz does not name its exchange feeds or news sources on the pages read, and its terms carry
the usual non-professional subscriber representations. No options, futures or non-US markets.

## Integrations

None yet below Ultra. Broker trading is listed as coming soon, with hotkeys, keyboard navigation and
daily-loss and position-size limits previewed. Ultra's API access and automated trading hooks are
sold through sales and not documented publicly. The help centre has an assistant, Scanz AI, that
answers questions about the product itself.

## Limitations

- **A trader's scanner, not a screener of businesses.** The filters described are price, volume,
technical and float; the pages read describe no earnings or valuation filters.
- **Starter is a trial-sized plan.** No alerts, one saved scan per kind, no desktop app.
- **No execution today.** Orders go through your broker's own platform until the integrations ship.
- **No refunds**, including for a renewal you forgot to cancel.
- **The API is $999 a month** and undocumented in public.

## Alternatives

[Trade Ideas](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/trade-ideas) is the other real-time US equity scanner at this price, on a
Windows desktop. [TC2000](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/tc2000) scans US and Canadian stocks with real-time EasyScan for
far less. [Finviz Elite](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/finviz-elite) is the cheap choice if a screen refreshed every few
seconds is enough. A trader who wants the scan and the order ticket in one platform today should
look at [DAS Trader Pro](https://stockmarketstack.com/tools/das-trader-pro), which includes a scanner.

## FAQ

### How much does Scanz cost?

Starter is $89 a month and Pro $199, both with a 7-day free trial that needs a credit card and converts to the monthly rate on day seven; Ultra is $999 a month through sales. Prices read on Scanz's pricing page on 23 October 2026. Annual billing is offered inside the app, at a price the pricing page does not print.

### Can I get a refund from Scanz?

No. Scanz's refund policy, effective 10 March 2026, says all charges are final, including renewals, and lists forgetting to cancel and claims of failed cancellation among the requests it will not accept. Cancel in the account dashboard or by email, and keep a copy of the email.

### Are Scanz signals trade recommendations?

No. A Scanz signal is an event you configure — a new high, a moving-average crossover, a relative-volume spike, a float rotation, a block trade — streamed the moment it happens across the stocks your filters allow. Scanz detects fourteen event types; which ones matter and what to do about them is yours to decide.

### Can I trade from Scanz?

Not yet. Broker trading integrations are listed as coming soon on the pricing page, with hotkeys and risk limits previewed on the home page. The only execution path today is the automated trading hooks on the $999 Ultra plan, sold through sales.

## Head to head

- [Trade Ideas vs Scanz: one tiers by feature, the other by scans](https://stockmarketstack.com/compare/trade-ideas-vs-scanz.md) — Trade Ideas splits its plans by what the scanner can do, Scanz by how many scans and alerts run at once. Its $89 plan is not a cheaper Trade Ideas.
