## What it is

Snowball Analytics is a portfolio tracker whose centre of gravity is dividends. What people
subscribe for is the payout calendar, the forecast of future payments, yield before and after
tax, dividend growth and a "Dividend Rating" built from thirteen fundamental parameters. The
tracking half — IRR, TWR, Sharpe and Sortino, benchmarking against the S&P 500, NASDAQ, FTSE or
TSX, rebalancing against target weights — is competent, conventional, and not why anyone picks
this one. Screening is not a screener in the usual sense: a ranked dividend-stock list, capped
at the top 5, 20 or 50 names by plan, with filters.

## Pricing

Free is capped by size rather than by days and never expires: 1 portfolio, 10 holdings, 1 custom
holding, 1 watchlist. Paid plans are $7.99, $14.99 and $24.99 a month, or $79.99, $149.99 and
$249.99 a year, with a 14-day trial and no card.

The money mostly buys capacity, not features. Starter lifts the holdings cap and switches on
brokerage linking; Investor goes from one portfolio to ten and adds full benchmarking, ten-year
fundamentals and 30+ year backtests; Expert removes the remaining counts and is the one plan
that carries the MCP server.

## Data & coverage

70+ exchanges and 25+ currencies, priced from EODHD — the dividend data is bought in, not
Snowball's own. Quotes refresh about every 30 minutes, each asset on its own timer. Beyond
stocks, ETFs and funds, precious metals and currency positions are native; real estate, deposits
and P2P loans are custom assets you price yourself.

## Integrations

Around 1,000 brokers via Yodlee and SnapTrade across the US, UK, Europe and Asia, syncing
nightly, plus about 15 brokers whose own report formats are parsed on import. CSV export of
holdings and transactions is on every plan, including Free.

The Expert plan adds an MCP server: generate a key in the profile, point Claude, Cursor or
another MCP client at it, and ask about holdings, dividends, projected income and performance in
plain language. The calculations still run on Snowball's backend — the client only asks.

## Limitations

- No brokerage linking on the free plan at all — Free is import-by-hand.
- Broker connections usually surface only 90–200 days of transaction history, which silently
  guts dividend history, realised P&L and every period-based metric until you backfill from
  statements.
- No REST API and no spreadsheet add-in. The Expert plan's MCP server answers questions about a
  portfolio; it is not a bulk export, and CSV remains the only way to get the data out.
- No tax report: withholding rates feed after-tax yield, but nothing produces realised gains or
  FIFO/LIFO output for a filing.
- Options are not covered, and bonds only as a manually priced custom holding.
- Quotes are ~30 minutes stale; this is not a screen to watch a position on.
