Adanos Market Sentiment API
Per-ticker buzz and sentiment from Reddit, X, news and Polymarket behind one key.
Best for developers who want retail attention and sentiment per ticker as a number, from a free key upward; not for a backtest that needs more than a year of history or an archive that never changes.

What it is
Adanos reads what is said about stocks and crypto on Reddit, X, financial news and Polymarket, and returns a number per ticker. It is not an article feed. For each platform a ticker gets a 0–100 buzz score for attention and a sentiment score from −1 to +1, with bullish and bearish shares and a rising, falling or stable trend. The trend compares the last three days of activity with the three before; the documentation says the share price plays no part. A separate endpoint, on Professional only, scores the sentiment of text you send.
Each platform has the same endpoints: /trending over any window from 1 to 365 days, sector and
country rollups, /stock/{ticker} with daily history and the subreddits or publishers behind it,
/compare for up to ten tickers, and /explain, an LLM-written paragraph on why a ticker is being
discussed. The vendor claims 100+ publishers, 50+ subreddits, 35,000+ reference tickers and 450,000
mentions a week, refreshed about every hour.
Pricing
One key covers all five sources, and every call is one request whatever the endpoint. Free is 250 requests a month and 30 days of history, no card; Hobby is $29 a month or $290 a year for 250,000 requests and 90 days. Both are non-commercial. Professional, at $299 a month or $2,990 a year, adds commercial use, 2,500,000 requests, up to 365 days, an SLA, and six endpoints the lower plans lack: raw per-post mentions for each source, and text scoring.
At 250 a month, the free tier is for trying the endpoints, not for polling a watchlist. Twenty
tickers checked one at a time twice a day use it up in about six days. Batched through /compare,
ten tickers a call, the same check lasts about two months. Universities and non-profits can apply
for free non-commercial access.
Data & coverage
The archive is young. The changelog starts with version 0.6.0 on 27.12.2025 and reached 1.0.0 four days later. It also states that news data starts on 07.03.2026. Professional's 365-day window therefore reaches further back than the news archive does. A request that starts too early returns 422 with the date the data begins, and that error does not count against the quota.
Polymarket coverage is narrow. On 07.10.2026 the public health endpoint reported 40 tickers tracked for Polymarket, against 15,262 for news. Tickers resolve across exchanges and there is a country rollup, but the sources the vendor names — WallStreetBets and other subreddits, FinTwit cashtags, Reuters, Benzinga, Finviz — are English-language.
Integrations
REST with the key in an X-API-Key header, X-RateLimit-* headers, Retry-After on 429 and an
llms.txt for agents. The MIT-licensed SDKs are the vendor's own: adanos on PyPI,
finance-sentiment on npm, and a PHP client. There is also a CLI, embeddable widgets and a Chrome
extension. There is no MCP server; the agent route is the CLI and a published agent skill.
Optional Adanos integrations have been merged into many open-source projects. Among those carded here, FinRobot takes a key for the retail-sentiment sections of its equity reports, and Wealthfolio has a community add-on. The founder contributed most of them himself, so they show reach rather than demand.
Limitations
- History can change. The terms say values may be revised when late items arrive, filters or mappings are corrected, or models improve. Unless stated otherwise, the service is not an immutable point-in-time archive, so store what you pull — the terms allow it for internal use.
- Commercial use starts at $299. There is no cheap commercial tier, and even Professional allows integration into your own product, not resale of the feed.
- Source rights stay with the sources. The terms disclaim any warranty that Adanos holds rights in the underlying posts, headlines and usernames. Raw mention data must be deleted within 30 days of termination. The site does not say how X data is collected.
- One named person. The site names only the founder and managing director, and he wrote the vendor's SDK releases and its pull requests into other projects. It is a registered GmbH with a status page and a dated changelog of 88 releases, but plan for a small operation.
- It measures attention, not direction, and the vendor says so. Its own whitepaper tests 198 S&P 500 stocks over twelve months to June 2026. It finds the buzz level forecasts the next day's volatility weakly (r = +0.09), and a change in buzz does not predict the sign of the next day's return (r = −0.00). Its words: an early-warning signal for magnitude, not a directional alpha source.
Alternatives
Marketaux scores sentiment per entity over news articles and has a free tier of 100 requests a day. Stock News API is the article feed with sentiment attached. RavenPack is the institutional version of entity sentiment, sold by contract. GDELT is free, but its tone score is general-purpose rather than financial. Among these, RavenPack is the one that names social sources, and it sells by contract. Reddit and X scored per ticker, on a free key, is what Adanos adds.
The rest of the field is in news and sentiment APIs.

FAQ
Can I use the Adanos free tier in a product?
No. Free and Hobby are licensed for non-commercial use — personal research, academic work and a private trading bot run on your own capital. Anything offered to others, any customer-facing feature and any use inside a revenue-generating business needs Professional at $299 a month.
How far back does Adanos history go?
Less far than the plan windows suggest. Free reads 30 days, Hobby 90 and Professional up to 365, but the API changelog states that news data starts on 7 March 2026, and the API itself reached version 1.0.0 on 31 December 2025. A request that starts before a platform's data begins returns 422 with the date it does begin.
What is the Adanos buzz score?
A 0–100 measure of how much attention a ticker gets on one platform. Sentiment is reported separately, from −1 to +1, with bullish and bearish shares, and the trend label compares the last three days of activity with the three before. The documentation says the share price plays no part in any of them.
Who is behind Adanos?
Adanos Software GmbH, Berlin, registered at the Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg under HRB 202476 B. The managing director, Alexander Schneider, is the only person the site names.
Can I republish Adanos data?
Not as a feed on any plan. Professional allows integrating scores into your own application, but the terms forbid selling, sublicensing or redistributing the data as a feed. Post text, usernames and headlines remain the rights of their original platforms and authors, and Adanos does not warrant those rights.
