Trackinsight

A free global ETF screener — 15,875 funds across listing venues, with daily flows.

Best for investors comparing ETFs across US, European and Asian listings on cost, tracking difference and flows with a free account; not for full holdings lists, history exports or anything without a login wall.

What it is

Trackinsight is a global ETF database with a free website in front of it. The screener held 15,875 funds on 7 October 2026 across every major listing venue — S&P 500 trackers from New York sit next to their UCITS, Canadian, Australian, Korean and Japanese equivalents on the same SPY page — and it can be filtered by asset class, geography, sector, theme, issuer, index provider, replication, dividend policy, weighting scheme, tax treatment and listing venue. That breadth is the reason to use it: very few free screeners rank a Dublin-domiciled fund and a New York one in the same table.

The comparison page is the other half. Two funds side by side without logging in, more with a free account, on assets, TER, performance, net flows, bid/ask spread, volatility, drawdown, country and sector exposure, top-15 holdings, and replication quality — one-year tracking error, tracking difference and the best and worst daily return gaps against the index. On SPY against IVV that put the one-year cumulative return difference at roughly −10 to −14 basis points for SPY against −3 to −4 for IVV, which says more about the real cost of the two funds than their expense ratios do.

Around those sit an ETF stock-exposure finder, watchlists, a portfolio builder capped at two portfolios on the free account, a daily global-flows board, and an ETF news section, part of it sponsored and labelled as such.

The company was founded in 2016; Kepler Cheuvreux took a majority stake in 2024. NYSE's ETF Central site is the same engine under another name — its pages carry "brought to you by" NYSE and Trackinsight, with the same screener, comparison pages and authors.

Pricing

Individuals pay nothing. Anonymous visitors see fund pages, the screener and two-fund comparisons with flows, volatility, exposures and most holdings locked; a free Essentials account opens those, adds more screener filters and editable columns from more than 100 metrics, watchlists and two portfolios. The site's own promises on comparison width disagree — the home page offers up to five funds side by side, the Essentials list says three.

The paid product is Trackinsight Enterprise, an institutional platform with holding-based and rule-based screening, buy-lists, due-diligence reports and the full ETF Portfolio Insights analytics, plus an optional factor add-on built with Scientific Portfolio, an EDHEC venture. It is sold through a demo and no price is published.

Data & coverage

Global: 15,875 exchange-traded products by the site's count, with $22.71 trillion in assets and $2.06 trillion of year-to-date flows on its home-page board, both as of 6 October 2026. Prices, assets and flows are end-of-day. Holdings are not: SPY's top holdings and sector weights were stamped 31 August 2026 on a page read on 7 October, so exposure and holdings figures run about a month behind month-end.

Comparison pages carry European tax rows — PEA eligibility and UK reporting status — that a US-centric screener never shows. Coverage runs across equity, fixed income, commodity and crypto products.

Integrations

The website itself has no API, no broker link and no alerts. Funds selected in the screener can be exported, and performance charts carry an export control, but the formats are not documented for individual users. Data access by API or Excel is a separate product, ETF Data Services, sold to firms with a free trial on request — a data feed, not a feature of the free account.

The terms forbid reselling or redistributing the data, and login credentials are personal.

Limitations

  • Holdings are monthly, about five weeks old at the start of a month, and only the top 10 to 15 are shown before you register.
  • Overlap between funds is not a free tool. Holding overlap is listed among the portfolio analytics that come in full only with Enterprise.
  • Two portfolios on the free account, built from weights rather than transactions.
  • The full product is institutional. Anything past Essentials is a sales conversation.
  • Ads and sponsored articles sit on the free pages, the trade-off for no subscription.

Alternatives

A European buyer who wants savings-plan availability at a named broker should use justETF, which Trackinsight supplies with data. For pairwise holdings overlap and a total-cost comparison that adds bid/ask spread to the expense ratio, ETF Research Center is the better tool. To rank US funds by trend instead of by cost, see ETFreplay.

FAQ

Is Trackinsight free?

For an individual, yes. Fund pages, the screener and a two-fund comparison open without an account; a free Essentials account unlocks flows, volatility, drawdown, country and sector exposure, more screener filters, watchlists and two portfolios. The only paid product is Trackinsight Enterprise, which is sold to institutions through a demo with no published price.

How current is Trackinsight holdings data?

Monthly, and about five weeks behind. On 7 October 2026 SPY's top holdings and sector split were stamped as of 31 August 2026, while its price, assets and flows were as of the previous day's close. The comparison page's own FAQ describes the August holdings as "as of yesterday", so read the stamp beside the table rather than the sentence.

Does Trackinsight cover UCITS ETFs?

Yes, alongside US, Canadian, Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and Australian listings. A comparison page carries rows for France's PEA eligibility and UK reporting-fund status, which is what a European investor checks before tax, and the screener has a listing-venue and tax-optimisation filter.

Does Trackinsight show fund flows?

Yes, and it is the thing most free screeners do not. Every fund carries one-month and year-to-date net flows, the screener can sort by them, and the home page aggregates global flows by asset class, theme, sector and commodity for the last week or month. Flows need a free account on fund and comparison pages.
