ProRealTime
European charting and trading platform, free or paid for in euros or in trades.

What it is
ProRealTime is a charting and trading platform from ProRealTime SAS, a French investment firm supervised by the ACPR and the AMF. It is a European product first — the site is published in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and English, and prices in euros — and it comes in three forms: a free browser version, a downloadable desktop app (Complete, or Premium with more history and higher limits) for Windows, macOS and Linux, and a mobile app.
People buy it for the charts — tick-by-tick to monthly, Renko, Kagi, point and figure, volume profile, 66 drawing tools on the desktop — and stay for what sits behind them in the paid versions: ProScreener custom market scans, ProBacktest, and ProOrder, which runs automated systems on ProRealTime's servers so they keep trading when the platform is closed. All three are scripted in ProBuilder, the in-house language, or assembled in a point-and-click editor; ProRealCode, a community site, hosts more than 1,000 shared indicators and systems. ProOrder can also run against a virtual portfolio — PaperTrading — on Complete and Premium. Premium's higher limits are concrete: up to 200,000 candles on a real-time chart, 1 million in its Historical Data Mode, and up to 100 trading systems running at once. "ProRealTrend" automatic trend lines are the AI feature the vendor advertises.
Pricing
The standalone list is simple: Web free, Complete €24 and Premium €70 a month excluding VAT, billed monthly and cancellable at any time or prepaid for a year. The site switches to dollars — $32 and $91 — depending on the country you browse from. Complete is free if end-of-day data is enough.
The broker-bundled versions are where the money really goes. ProRealTime transmits orders to Interactive Brokers and Saxo, and each trade earns a PRT credit worth €1 against the VAT-inclusive licence on standard-sized instruments: at France's 20% VAT, €28.80 for Complete and €84 for Premium, so 29 and 84 trades a month respectively bring the bill to zero. Credits can also pay for exchange-direct market data add-ons and the Market Profile (TPO) chart style, €19 a month; CFD and forex trades earn none. IG is a third route: an "IG account sponsored by ProRealTime" gets Premium for €30 a month, waived in any month IG earns the equivalent of four standard contracts, with a €1,000 minimum deposit — but that is a CFD account.
Data & coverage
Every plan includes a real-time package: US stocks and Western, Northern and Central European stocks from Cboe's venues, 120 forex pairs, cryptocurrencies and spot gold and silver, plus delayed data on more than 30 markets. Exchange-direct real-time feeds are add-ons priced per market — Nasdaq, NYSE and Euronext stocks from €5 a month, German stocks (Xetra, Frankfurt) from €9 or $12, Italian stocks €5, the London Stock Exchange €9, Canadian stocks €19, Eurex from €2, OPRA US options €5. Dow Jones news feeds in several languages are €49 a month. These are the non-professional prices; the price list has a separate professional toggle.
Note what the included package is: prints from Cboe's US and European venues, not the primary exchange's own feed. For a quote that matches Euronext or Xetra to the tick, budget for the add-on.
Integrations
None outside its own walls. There is no public API or Python interface, and automated trading reaches only the three partner brokers. Watchlists, workspaces, track records, trading systems and backtest reports can be exported and imported, and that is the extent of it.
Limitations
- Three brokers. Live trading means Interactive Brokers, Saxo or IG; your existing broker is not an option unless it is one of them.
- The free-with-trading deal is a volume incentive. The vendor states that PRT credits are not meant to encourage a given trading frequency, but the arithmetic still reads 29 or 84 trades a month for free software.
- IG route is CFDs. Cheapest bundled Premium, but the instruments are contracts for difference, which the vendor's own disclosure says lose money for 60–71% of retail accounts.
- Proprietary language. ProBuilder code does not run anywhere else, so systems built here stay here.
- Built for price, not fundamentals. ProScreener criteria are described as price, indicators, timeframes and trend; for screening on financial statements, look elsewhere.
Alternatives
TradingView is the global browser-first equivalent, with more brokers and a bigger script library. NinjaTrader and MultiCharts cover the futures and automated-trading side with open broker choice. For fundamental screening rather than charting, Stock Rover is the better fit.

Head to head
- TradingView vs ProRealTime: a subscription plus exchange fees, or a licence paid in trades — For European stocks TradingView bills the plan and each exchange; ProRealTime includes Cboe real-time and waives its licence against trades at IBKR or Saxo.

FAQ
How much does ProRealTime cost?
Bought on its own, the Web version is free, Complete costs €24 a month and Premium €70 a month, excluding VAT — $32 and $91 where the site bills in dollars. Complete is also free if you accept end-of-day data. Exchange data beyond the included real-time package is extra, mostly €2 to €19 a month per market.
Can I get ProRealTime for free by trading?
Yes, through three brokers, on different terms. With Interactive Brokers or Saxo, each trade earns one PRT credit worth €1 against the VAT-inclusive licence, so at French VAT Complete is free from about 29 trades a month and Premium from about 84. With an IG account sponsored by ProRealTime, Premium costs €30 a month and is free in any month IG earns the equivalent of four standard contracts.
Does ProRealTime have an API or Python support?
No public API and no Python. Indicators, scans, backtests and automated systems are written in ProBuilder, ProRealTime's own language, or built in a point-and-click editor. That keeps everything inside the platform and its three brokers.
Which computers does ProRealTime run on?
The desktop Complete and Premium versions support Windows 10 and 11, macOS Big Sur 11 or later, and current Linux distributions such as Ubuntu and Debian. ProRealTime Web runs in a browser, and the mobile app is on the App Store and Google Play.
