Finbox

Editable DCF, multiples and DDM models pre-filled per stock, exportable with formulas.

Best for investors who want a ready-built DCF or comparables model to rework and take into a spreadsheet; not for anyone who needs an API, bulk data or a neutral price target.

What it is

Finbox is a web research platform built around pre-filled valuation models. For each covered company it generates a gallery of templates from the same financials: discounted cash flow in five- and ten-year forms with growth, EBITDA-multiple or revenue-multiple exits; comparables on EV/Revenue, EV/EBITDA, EV/EBIT, P/S, P/E and P/B; stable and multi-stage dividend discount models; earnings power value; a CAPM cost of capital; a DuPont breakdown of return on equity; and five- and ten-year historical statements. Templates that do not fit the company are switched off — no dividend discount model for a non-payer, no unlevered DCF for a bank.

Each model opens in an online editor where the assumptions in blue are yours to change, and the fair value moves with them. Every template runs through validation checks first: a checkmark means the default assumptions passed, a red cross means the vendor itself says to review them before trusting the output. Around the models sit a screener with a thousand-plus metrics, a data explorer, fundamental charts, peer comparison, watchlists with price targets, dividend and earnings trackers, and a news feed on each stock page.

The product is run as a Fusion Media Limited business, according to its terms of use.

Pricing

The pricing page opens on yearly billing, so the $10, $25 and $66 in large type are yearly rates divided by twelve. Month to month it is $19 for Starter, $39 for Executive and $199 for Professional; the full plan builder adds quarterly billing at $45 and $477. The main page lists Starter as US only, though on 7 October 2026 the plan builder also marked Europe as included; Canada and Mexico, Asia-Pacific and LATAM/Middle East/Africa are $14 a month each, the UK and Ireland $19. Exporting anything — screens, watchlists, models — needs a Data Boost, $20 a month per region on Starter and included above it. Every plan starts with a 10-day trial; billing is in USD and payments are non-refundable.

Data & coverage

Fundamentals and consensus estimates come from S&P Global Market Intelligence. Where no analyst forecast exists, the models fall back on the vendor's own extrapolation from historical and forecast trends. Coverage spans 130+ exchanges in six regions, with the financials explorer showing ten years of normalised statements. The screener converts every value to USD so filters compare across markets; there is no option to screen in another currency.

Limitations

  • The headline fair value on every stock page is Finbox's model output, not a neutral fact. It averages the vendor's own models on their default assumptions and is shown as upside or downside against the price. Treat it as one firm's estimate and open the models it comes from.
  • Default assumptions lean on sell-side consensus where it exists and on Finbox's extrapolation where it does not; for thinly covered stocks the starting point is the vendor's guess.
  • No API: the help centre says its contract with the data provider forbids a public one. No spreadsheet add-in on sale either, despite the terms still describing one.
  • The terms limit use to personal, non-commercial purposes, and the S&P data is for internal use only — nothing exported may be passed to a third party without written approval.
  • No documented quote delay; this is a fundamentals tool, not a price feed.
  • The vendor's own pages disagree on the lineup. The main pricing page sells Starter, Executive and Professional; the full plan builder and the help centre, mostly written in 2021, know only Starter and Professional.

Alternatives

Stock Unlock offers a single editable DCF over seven metrics for a fraction of the price. TIKR sells the same S&P-sourced financials and estimates without the model gallery. Wisesheets puts the raw numbers into Excel or Google Sheets as live functions so you build the model yourself. GuruFocus pairs deep history with its own house fair value. The rest of the field is in fundamentals and research platforms.

FAQ

Is the Finbox fair value a neutral number?

No. It is the output of Finbox's own models run on their default assumptions — analyst consensus where S&P has it, the vendor's own extrapolation where it does not — and shown with an upside figure against the current price. It is one firm's estimate, not a reported fact. What makes the product usable for your own conclusion is that every model behind it opens with its assumptions editable.

Can you take a Finbox model into Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. The vendor's help centre says a model exports to Excel or Google Sheets with the spreadsheet formulas left intact, so free cash flow, discount factors and enterprise value can be traced cell by cell. Exporting counts as a Data Boost feature, so on Starter it costs $20 a month per region on top of the plan; Executive and Professional include it.

Does Finbox have an API or a spreadsheet add-in?

Not one you can buy today. The help centre answers the API question with a flat no, citing its contract with its data provider. The terms of use, last updated May 2021, still describe tools inside Google Sheets and Excel, but the old integrations URLs now redirect to the pricing page and no add-in is offered there.

Why is the professional plan so much more expensive month to month?

Because the yearly price is the one Finbox wants you on. Professional is $199 a month, $477 a quarter or $792 a year — the yearly rate works out at $66 a month. Starter runs $19 monthly against $120 a year. Payments are non-refundable, so the 10-day trial is the only way to test before committing.
